International Conference on Machine Learning June 26–July 1, 2012 — Edinburgh, Scotland

Venues

The conference will be held on the campus of the University of Edinburgh, in the George Square area in the heart of the city.

Main conference

The tutorials, invited speakers, and conference sessions will take place in Appleton Tower, Crichton St. Registration will be held in Appleton Tower as well.

The plenary sessions in the morning (e.g., for the invited speakers) will be simulcast between three lecture theatres: LT4, LT5, and LT2 in Appleton Tower. This is because a single theatre is not large enough to hold all of the conference delegates. In the morning, please follow the instructions of the student volunteers, who will direct you to the appropriate theatre.

The poster sessions in the evenings will be split between the Informatics Forum (10 Crichton St) and Appleton Tower.

The workshops will be split between Appleton Tower and the Informatics Forum as well.

Directions to the Informatics Forum are available. Appleton Tower is directly across from the Informatics Forum, across Crichton St.

Disabled access to Appleton Tower is available from the Chapel Street (east) side (an extension of Windmill Street, at S.E corner of Appleton Tower) at street level.

Reception

The opening reception will be held in the Scottish National Gallery on the Mound. The gallery features paintings by Botticelli, Rembrandt, and Monet, as well as a substantial collection of Scottish art. It is located in the centre of Edinburgh, less than 1 mi from Appleton Tower, and an easy walk.

Banquet

The conference banquet will be held in the National Museum of Scotland, Chambers St. This is a short walk (about 5 minutes) from Appleton Tower.
